Program
From fish to fireflies to the myth of lightning.
Numerous uniting points of light are reminiscent of living fireflies. Falling stars transform into golden fish. Animated fragments of light are brought together into a whole thanks to musical improvisations, like a string of pearls, and the myth of lightning has enchanted the minds of the earth for centuries. Many light installations will artfully illuminate squares, facades and sights of the city of Lucerne during eleven days.

Installations & Artists
Most of the artists are from Switzerland, including Lucerne and the surrounding area. In addition, we are pleased to announce that artists from all over Europe will be participating again this year.
The light installations are located at central places in the middle of the city, at well-known sights and along the shore of Lake Lucerne. Due to the current situation regarding electricity supply, about 30% of the installations will be omitted (e.g. the installation at the water tower and part of the old town). Further details can be found on the website or the festival map.
Miscellaneous
The festival will take place in all weather conditions. We ask the visitors to dress according to the weather. Warm clothes and shoes suitable for winter will help to brave the sometimes chilly January temperatures.
There are plenty of public restrooms in the city. In addition, selected restaurants will provide their “nice toilets”. Here is an overview
